Has Madhuri Dixit’s Fame Game Opened Doors For Middle-Aged Bollywood Actresses?

Madhuri Dixit is among the most popular actresses of the 90s. Still, her stardom has not vanished. Currently, her new web series Fame Game has been released on the OTT platform. The reviews are great as the audience is loving their Tezaab actress Mohini on the show.

Earlier in the industry, actresses left their careers just to make sure they give time to their marriages and motherhood but now the time has changed. New actresses are not only marrying at a mature age but even after their motherhood period getting back to their careers. 

Anushka Sharma, after the birth of Vamika, is back on to her acting career in the movies, in the shows, in the advertisements. 

Similarly, Madhuri Dixit left the Hindi Film industry In 1999 to concentrate on marriage and motherhood. But with the changing time, she finally made her come back with the Fame Game in a sparkling form.

Madhuri Dixit is not on the top list in the comeback list. We have other talented actresses too. Our  Dream Girl, Sridevi who before her death did a mindblowing job in her movie English Vinglish. Her performance in the movie after so many years of the break-in of her acting career was a surprise for her fans.

Following the list, the name of the actresses essaying these roles like 90s honor roll- Sushmita Sen (Aarya), Raveena Tandon ( Aranyak), Rani Mukherji (Bunty Babli 2), and Kajol (Tribhanga). 

The speciality about their comebacks is that all the actresses' essay roles are close to their age instead of being forced to play younger characters just to be in compliance with the fantasies of male audiences.

After all, when middle-aged actresses who are labeled “comeback actors” have to repeatedly remind reporters that they never left the industry, what they really mean is that it was their choice, they were forced to leave the screens to manage their marriages and motherhood.

 But the era is changing and so are the opportunities for all and Fame Game is the perfect example of the same.
