Akshay Kumar To Star In Soorarai Pottru Remake

AKSHAY KUMAR has finally come on board to star in the Hindi remake of 2020's blockbuster film SOORARAI POTTRU to be produced by VIKRAM MALHOTRA (Abundatia Entertainment) and SURIYA (2D Entertainment).
The film will be directed by SUDHA KONGARA who directed the original version with SURIYA as well. Just like the original version, this film is also an emotional story of a guy from NORTH INDIA who sets out to make the common man fly and, in the process, takes on the world’s most capital-intensive industry with the help of his family, friends, and sheer willpower.
The film earlier hit a roadblock when GUNEET MONGA, who produced the original version along with SURIYA, filed a case to request a stay on remake and Madras High Court gave clearance in August 2021.
Earlier, SHAHID KAPOOR was being approached for the film, but he turned it down and the producers immediately approached AKSHAY to step in SURIYA's shoes and negotiations with him went over Six Months and he eventually decided to star in this biopic of CAPTAIN GOPINATH.
The film is currently being discussed to be shot immediately after AKSHAY wraps up SELFIEE with EMRAAN HASHMI, which is also a Hindi remake of Malyalam hit film DRIVING LICENSE, backed by DHARMA PRODUCTIONS and PRITHVIRAJ SUKUMARAN. Other than these films, AKSHAY will also wrap up shooting of a London based THRILLER to be produced by PANORAMA STUDIOS (Kumar Mangat Pathak), Historical Drama GORKHA, directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and the much awaited BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN with TIGER SHROFF, in the end of 2022 with Ali Abbas Zafar as director of the action entertainer.
