At the start of the festival period Vicky(Rajkumar Rao) – a ladies tailor who believes her is born for bigger things meets a woman(Shraddha Kapoor) who doesn’t reveal her name. But this woman is soft on Rajkumar Rao. Her weird behavior, requests, not disclosing her name & her being unknown to the people of Chanderi make Vicky’s friends suspect that she is Stree. Men start disappearing from Chanderi & their clothes start being left behind.

Stree Movie Review
Pankaj Tripathi & Rajkumar Rao are superb in their roles. Rajkumar takes Pankaj’s help is saving the town from Stree
Vicky & his friends go on a quest to get to the bottom of this mystery. It is then revealed that Stree was ostracized by society for being a tawaif. She is taken away from her husband before they could consummate their wedding. She is hence resentful of society for taking her away from her loved one. Will Vicky & his friends be able to save Chanderi from Sree’s wrath? Is Shraddha Kapoor Stree? Why doesn’t she reveal her name? Watch the movie to find out.

Strengths

The movie is India’s first horror-comedy. Luckily it doesn’t fail to entertain. The dialogues by Sumit Arora is excellent. Some dialogues make you roll with laughter. The “Swayam Sevi” line will stay with you for a long time. The director has done a fab job of extracting fine performances from his cast. Pankaj Tripathi is pure dynamite in the few scenes that he is in. Vicky’s friends – Aparshakti Khurana & especially Abhishek Banerjee are superb. We do hope to see more of them in the days to come. Nora Fatehi is likely to become the item number favorite of Bollywood right now. Shraddha Kapoor is convincing in her role of the mysterious women. Rajkumar Rao is excellent as usual. He is believable as the small town ladies tailor. The effects & makeup is good. The horror scenes are well shot & do manage to spook you.

We wouldn’t want to play spoil sport & mention the flaws of a such a well made movie.

Be it with your family or your gang of friends, you will enjoy this movie to the core. It is best enjoyable in a theatre, Do watch it before it is too late!
