Far Cry Primal Review

Having played & thoroughly enjoyed all the previous editions in the Far Cry series, we had huge expectations from Far Cry’s latest installment – Far Cry Primal. The story revolves around Takkar, a unarmed hunter who goes on to become a hero cum leader of the Wenja tribe. The Wenja are at war against Udam & Izila tribes. Missions include rehabilitating Wenja tribesmen across the map & growing the Wenja population. To say that the game is addictive is an understatement.. The gameplay is similar to the previous Far Cry editions. As the current edition is set in 10,000 BC, it involves sabre tooth tigers, wooly mammoths, cave bears, cave lions etc. The best part of the game is getting to tame wild animals, who can then be commanded to attack your enemies at will. You can tame various enemies & then summon them as per your whim to be your bodyguard!

The biggest issue we faced while playing the game, was the fast draining of the health bar while being attacked by animals or your enemies. Two hits by a bulky animal or one hard hit by your enemy & you are left with just one bar of health. You can either run & simultaneously heal yourself or attack the animal/enemy, which may end in you dying.

But luckily the pros far out way the cons. The gameplay, graphics & storyline are top notch. All the good things about Far Cry series like hunting animals, collecting their skin, meat for building weapons or upgrading or the part where you throw baits to trap animals are all there.
The best part is getting to ready mammoths post taming them. The game was totally value for our money. We are eagerly awaiting the next game in the Far Cry franchise.
