Mumbai Mirror has published a blind item about a superstar whose movie was offered 250cr by a streaming giant.
Streaming platforms have been a source of relief for distressed producers. While the small producers have to bear big losses, the big one whose movies have big names can now recover their investment. They are offered enough money to cover their investments & also book a neat profit. Conversely, a flop at the box office could also have lead to losses.
While the box office king’s challenger has signed up for several of his movies releasing online, the king himself is averse to any radical changes. People who know him will tell you about his stuck up ways. He is very stubborn & is still stuck in the 90’s. Luckily for him his formulaic movies have mostly worked very well. But for how long will his good luck continue? Time will tell.
EVEN though some of the best cinema is now on streamers, several stars and producers are fighting the shift to online releases. Among these is a topliner whose latest release has been halted due to the lockdown. He has been offered a whopping Rs 250 crore by the streamer, but he has refused. He’s a larger-than-life star he says, not fit for a screen that fits in the palm of your hand.
