There are millions of admirers giving them celebrity feels. It has become a worldwide stage for many musicians to showcase their talent and get the audience to appreciate their talent. One such personnel is Udaan – The band’s lead vocalist Pruthvi Parikh who is one of the most celebrated and renowned artists in the Gujarati music industry. Pruthvi is known for toe-tapping and groovy Garba songs like ‘Dudhe Te Bhari Talavadi’ and ‘Maniyaro’. In an exclusive quirky interview with us Pruthvi shares a few facts about his passion and more.

So, what motivates you to write your songs?

My main motivation is the feeling of Humanity. I believe that love and the feeling of being humane is what is currently deteriorating in the world. I want to bring back this dying feeling through my music.

What is your main source of inspiration?

Honestly, I don’t have one particular source of inspiration when it comes to writing music. I just start writing my thoughts down and that’s how it works with me.

Which music icon do you look up to?

My music icon is none other than the Indian musical legend Kishore Kumarji and when it comes to western music it rock legends Pink Floyd. As an artist, these are the two who have massively influenced my career as a singer.

Which genre of music do you like and why?

As an Indian, I guess everyone would agree with me when I say Bollywood music since this is a genre I’ve been well versed with. And secondly, it’s rock as it’s a genre that I just love listening to.

If you’re stranded on an island, which Bollywood music artist’s company would you like and who would you call to your rescue?

That would be Sonu Nigam. As he is one of the current living legends in today’s Bollywood music industry. Hmmm, I guess I would call my dad cause he’s my superman and the only one who would be able to rescue me from the island.

What is the one thing you hate about yourself?

My anger issues. I don’t get angry or upset about something very easily but when I lose my cool, it gets a little disastrous for me. I tend to make rash decisions when I’m angry which eventually I end up regretting.

How was growing up as a kid for you?

As a kid, it was complete fun growing up. I have always been a very jolly natured person and hence I had a lot of friends. We would often play together and help each other out with the problems we faced.

Of all the hobbies in the world, what is the one hobby you would never want to give up and why?

Cricket is a hobby that I would never wanna give up as when I was a child I loved playing cricket and at one point in my life wanted to be a cricketer.

Who do you consider as a role model in your family and why?

My grandpa and my dad are my role models as they’ve always been hardworking and have changed from being nobody to becoming somebody in life. Initially, my family had nothing but all thanks to my grandpa and my dad who make sure that we had everything.

What is the most life-changing advice that you’ve received?

Actually, as to date nothing that is really life-changing. But one thing that my family has always told me would be – try being the best in everything you do.
