Met Gala – Priyanka Chopra & Deepika Padukone Make Their Presence Felt

Ladies and gentlemen, it's that time of the year again! Hold your breath as we take you through a virtual tour of *drumrolls* The Met Gala Red Carpet. Like every year, the Met Gala was held on the first Monday of May in New York City. One of the biggest fundraising events in the city, this year's theme was Camp:Notes on Fashion. The night witnessed the biggest of the biggest stars walking down the red carpet dressed according to the theme.

Among many Hollywood stars were our very own Deepika Padukone and desi girl Priyanka Chopra. With pink being the hue of the night, Deepika wore a Zac Posen gown of the same blush and gorgeous shade. The gown surprisingly had 3D printed embellishments. The metal pink gown had more than 408 sea urchins inspired baubles.The pieces were built strereolithographically- a 3D printing technique where the structure is constructed layerwise using a liquid material which is then solidified-then metal planted and and painted. The skirt of the gown had a complex layered structure and it took around 160 hours to assemble the sea urchins. She wore jewellery designed by Lorraine Schwartz. She kept the accessories simple by going with only a pair of statement earrings, a quirky pink bracelet and a headband. She ditched neckpiece and kept the attention focused on her gorgeous gown.The hair and makeup too were on point. She went for a high ponytail look with marsala-maroon lips and violet eyes. The end result was a Barbie-meets-Disney Princess fairytale look which stood out on the red carpet and got a thumbs up by the fashion police. Later for the night she went for a easier on fashion palate neon yellow gown.

Now coming to Priyanka Chopra. If Deepika stunned the paparazzi with her statement that gown, Priyanka made all the jaws drop. She took the daring road and wore a silver Christian Dior gown. Her ensemble consisted of cagelike headgear and a pair of embellished teardrop earring. She upped her fashion game with an outrageous makeup. Silvery white eyeliner, silver eyebrows, raspberry eyeshadow and lips and excessively messy frizzy hair- she took some serious risks and turned a lot of heads.

Though her ensemble was on point with the theme, she was not spared by the trolls. Soon enough she went viral and not for the right reasons. Memes went viral comparing her look with that of Lasith Malinga & Veerapan's beard! Her look inspired many a meme maker and trolled that her look was a consequence of taking a Mumbai local. But PC knows better on how to deal with trolls. Very few would understand the interpretation of the theme and PC had nailed the look right to the minutest details. She was accompanied by her husband Nick Jonas who to glammed up his look.
