Bollywood has lost two actors in a span of two days. Bollywood expert Purvi gives us the details & bids adieu to the two legends.

It feels so sad to know that we have lost two of the most versatile and talented actors. They died within a day of each other. It is a nightmare week for Bollywood. After the demise of Irrfan Khan on Wednesday, people are shocked at the death of Rishi Kapoor on Thursday. Fans called it the darkest hour for the film industry which lost two of its most talented artists over two days.

A few people shared a picture of Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan from the only movie they did together, 2013’s D-Day. The photo shows Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor sitting in a car in a still from the film. Rishi played Iqbal Seth Aka Goldman, an underworld don modelled on Dawood Ibrahim while Irrfan played undercover RAW agent Wali Khan in the film. Irrfan was tasked to find and bring Godman back to India by the agency in Nikkhil Advani’s acclaimed film.

Irrfan Khan talked about working with Rishi Kapoor and told Filmfare in an interview, ‘My cousin is his ultimate fan, though I have watched all his movies. I never thought I had it me to be a Rishi Kapoor. He is hot liquid. He has worked on cultivating his craft so well and he is one of those stars you never have enough of, even if he is doing the same thing, movie after movie. I think that’s what makes his second innings so spectacular. He doesn’t need to be a star anymore so he is having a blast being an actor.’

Both the actors had been undergoing treatment for their respective ailments. Both of them had recovered from their deadly ailments. But as luck would have it, neither of them could survive long in spite of getting the best medical help abroad that money could buy.

Bollywood fans expressed shock over their deaths on social media. 2020 has to be the worst year we ever lived in. Rest in peace, both legends Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, both are not at all replaceable. Rishi Kapoor died at the age of 67 after a two years battle with cancer. Irrfan Khan died at the age of 53 after an infection of the colon. He, too, had been battling neuroendocrine tumour since 2018. We would request bollywood fans to read up on Rishi Kapoor’s autobiography – Khullam Khulla.
