Shakti Kapoor Wished To Work In Coolie No.1

Releasing on December 25, 2020 on OTT platform Amazon Prime, Coolie No. 1 has started to gain momentum and has already built up the excitement among the fans upon its trailer release on November 28. The film is a remake of a 1995 film under the similar name, which featured Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. In the movie which is directed by David Dhawan, Varun Dhawan will be observed playing multiple roles along with Sara Ali Khan. The film also consists of the fabulous cast of Paresh Rawal, Jawed Jaffrey, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav and many more.

However, Shakti Kapoor, who had been a part of the 1995 project, expressed his feelings on not being a part of the new film on an interview with the E Times. He mentioned that he wanted the director, David Dhawan, to give him a role, but by the time he contacted the David, it was too late. The film’s shooting was already over.

Shakti Kapoor and David Dhawan share a cordial relationship and it is reflected when Kapoor says, ‘I can’t wait for December 25 to see Varun Dhawan’s ‘Coolie No.1’. I am going to see the film soonest. David is a maker who won’t leave his film until he is satisfied in all respects. So we can rest assured that it must be a nice film.’

His noble feelings are also directed towards the new protagonists of the new film, that is, Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan. He says that the latter is a good artiste and he has the seen the former grow in front of his eyes and as an actor, Kapoor feels, that Varun Dhawan is intense.
