Udaya Chandrika, better known as Radha, was born on June 3, 1965, in Kallara, Kerala, India. She is a former Indian actress who made a significant impact in the film industry, particularly in Tamil and Telugu films. Radha's career spanned from 1981 to 1991, and during this period, she became one of the leading heroines, dominating the film industry in the 1980s.


Radha comes from a family with a strong acting background. Her elder sister, Ambika, was also a popular actress. Together, they acted in several films and co-owned a movie studio called "ARS Studios" in 1986. Radha stepped into the limelight in 1981 with her debut film "Alaigal Oivathillai," directed by Bharathiraja. The movie, in which she starred alongside debutant Karthik, became a cult classic, setting the stage for her successful career.


In Tamil cinema, Radha's on-screen chemistry with actors like Kamal Haasan and Karthik led to numerous hit movies, including "Thoongadhey Thambi Thoongadhey" (1983), "Oru Kaidhiyin Diary" (1985), and "Kadhal Parisu" (1987). She received critical acclaim and a Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil for her role in "Muthal Mariyathai" in 1985.


In Telugu cinema, Radha acted in several notable films alongside superstar Krishna, Chiranjeevi, and Balakrishna. Her contributions to the Kannada and Malayalam film industries were also noteworthy. Radha's versatility and talent were evident in films like "Irakal" (1985) and "Revathikkoru Pavakkutty" (1986).


Aside from her successful film career, Radha is a family-oriented person. She married hotelier Rajasekaran Nair in 1991, and they have two daughters, Karthika Nair and Thulasi Nair, and one son, Vignesh Nair. After her marriage, Radha chose to step away from the limelight, dedicating her time to her family life.


In 2021, Radha and her husband joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, marking a new chapter in her life. Despite her absence from the screen, Radha's legacy as a talented and influential actress continues to be celebrated in the Indian film industry.
