On March 26, 2023, Akanksha Dubey, a 25-year-old Indian Bhojpuri actress, dancer, and social media celebrity, tragically passed away. Akanksha had been discovered dead in her Varanasi hotel room. There was no suicide note in the room where she had gone to film "Laik Hoon Main Nalaik Nahin," the movie for which she had traveled. Akanksha started her career by regularly uploading acting and dancing videos to Instagram and TikTok. She developed a devoted fan base on both platforms due to her content's success. She also has a popular YouTube account where she posts short films and vlogs. Most of Akanksha's fame comes from her roles in several Bhojpuri music videos, including Raja Jawan, Kamar Ek Number, and Kamariya.

Birth & Early Life

Akanksha Dubey was born in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on October 21, 1997. Madhu and Chhote Lal Dubey are her parents' names. Akanksha and her family relocated to Mumbai when she was a little child. Although Akanksha's parents wanted her to become an IPS officer, she was more drawn to the performing and dancing industries. She followed her dream of becoming an actor which fed her enthusiasm. She enrolled at Mumbai University to complete her arts bachelor's degree.

She is 1.67m long and 62kg in weight.

Career

On TikTok and Instagram, Akanksha began to gain recognition by posting dancing and acting videos. She immediately gained a sizable and devoted fan base on both sites thanks to her material, and she's also been having a lot of success with her YouTube channel, where she posts vlogs and short films. She then had the opportunity to star in the Zed 5 TV series Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan. 

Later, in 2019, Akanksha debuted in the Bhojpuri film industry with the release of Meri Jung Mera Faisla, directed by Khesari Lal Yadav. Akanksha played the role of a supporting actress in that film. Having been cast in the lead role of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi for 2021 and advancing her acting career with roles in well-known films like Dabang Sarkar, Kasam Paida Kame Wale Ki 2, Rocky Handsome, Veero Ke Veer, Saajan, The Fighting King, and many more, Akanksha has established herself as a leading figure in the Bhojpuri film industry since her debut.

Akanksha was involved in Bhojpuri musical songs like Kamar Ek Number, Kamariya, Gajab Ke Rog, Leke Begun, and many others in addition to her involvement in the film industry.

Death Cause

Akanksha was discovered dead, hanging from a fan, in a hotel room on March 26, 2023. Although there was no evidence of alcohol or drugs in her body, the postmortem report revealed that there was 20 milliliters of an unknown liquid. Her wrists showed obvious evidence of damage, and the mucous membrane in her stomach was obstructed.

Attorney Shashank Shekhar Tripathi has asked Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, to order a CBI probe into Akanksha Dubey's case.
