She topped the UPSC 2020. It was a difficult year for the nation and she made out of it. She chose to serve at Indian Police Service and her AIR was 9th. She was born to Amitabh Mishra in Uttar Pradesh and have spent her early years of life in Jharkhand. She is a highly motivated personality and believes that she can achieve anything she works hard for. She did her schooling from Delhi Public School, Rohini. Then she opted to become a dentist and got a bachelor's degree from Army School of Dental Science. Her father is a retired army officer and mother is a professor. She failed to crack the exam in her first two attempts but she didn't give up. 

In her third attempt, she secured the maximum interview marks. She says that self study and hard work is her secret of success. The officer firstly took a medical career. Later she realized that our countries healthcare requires more attention. Hence, she wanted to create a greater impact on society. That’s when she felt that just a medical degree isn’t enough to serve society. This is when the officer decided to write the UPSC CSE. Apala Mishra’s Age was very less when she started her UPSC prep.
