Indian businessman and entrepreneur Ashneer Grover is well renowned for being the CEO and co-founder of BharatPe. His efforts to the fintech sector have been acknowledged, and he was included in Forbes 30 under 30 Asia 2020 for Retail & E-commerce.
Ashneer Grover was born on June 14, 1982, in Delhi, into a Punjabi family. His mother was a teacher, and his father was a chartered accountant (CA). Raised in the nation's capital, he attended the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi for his B. Tech. in civil engineering after completing his elementary studies.


A well-known personality in the Indian economic community, Ashneer Grover is known for his distinct approach to investing.Due to his upbringing in a Punjabi household, Ashneer was introduced to alcohol, which is a prevalent cultural practice. Surprisingly, though, Ashneer's IIT college friends had little taste for booze, and he never developed one himself. Still, he understands the enormous commercial potential that exists in things that consumers regularly use.

In 2002 and 2003, Ashneer continued his education by participating in a student exchange program at INSA Lyon University in France. He then graduated in 2006 with an MBA from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad.

Career

Ashneer Grover started his career in banking, holding a variety of positions in Kotak Mahindra Bank and HDFC Bank. His main duties included credit and risk analysis, which prepared him for his future work as a fintech entrepreneur. But the pivotal moment in Grover's career occurred when he and Shashvat Nakrani co-founded BharatPe in 2018[1]. The initiative sought to transform India's digital payment environment by offering small and medium-sized enterprises QR code-based payment options. Grover oversaw BharatPe's explosive expansion and notable success in India's thriving financial industry. He led the organization to incorporate digital payment methods into conventional business models, increasing the efficiency and accessibility of digital transactions for Indian retailers.
