Career
Shakti Kapoor’s career began in 1972, and he has since been frequently nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Comedian, winning once for his performance in David Dhawan's Raja Babu. Over the years, he became part of several successful movies, including Aasha, Khiladi, Aankhen, and Judwaa. Kapoor also appeared regularly in Priyadarshan’s films, such as Hungama, Hulchul, Chup Chup Ke, and Maalamaal Weekly.
Early in his career, Kapoor also took on roles in lower-budget films, including C-grade movies. Despite this, he managed to establish himself as a staple in the industry, balancing both comedic and antagonistic characters.
Controversy
In 2005, Shakti Kapoor became involved in a controversy when a sting operation revealed him soliciting sexual favors from a television reporter who had posed as an aspiring actress. The incident led to Kapoor facing social backlash for a brief period, although public interest in the scandal eventually faded.
Personal Life
Kapoor is married to Shivangi, and the couple has two children: Siddharth Kapoor and actress Shraddha Kapoor. His son Siddharth was once involved in a legal incident after being arrested at a pub. Additionally, Shakti Kapoor is the brother-in-law of renowned Marathi and Hindi actress Padmini Kolhapure.
