Vaibhav Suryavansh Biography, Age, Height, Family, Stats In 2025

Each generation has at least one extraordinary sporting talent who captures the attention of an entire nation, and in 2025, the star of Indian cricket is Vaibhav Suryavanshi at age 14. Born in Tajpur in Samastipur, Bihar, this young player has turned the cricketing world on its head, breaking records and columns to illustrate that age is no barrier to success. This child prodigy seems destined to change the game, as he has in every aspect of his young career.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was born on March 27, 2011, in a small village in Samastipur, Bihar. His father recognised his son's talent for cricket and made many sacrifices, including some of the family land. This was a strong support for Vaibhav in the early stages of his cricket journey.

Vaibhav showed remarkable talent from a very young age. He began playing against boys older than him in his local tournaments when he was only eight years old. Vaibhav developed a reputation based on his extraordinary hand-eye coordination and natural talent with the help of his coaches, Brijesh and Manish Ojha. With all of his previous experiences, he earned his first professional debut in the Ranji Trophy for Bihar at the young age of 12 years and 284 days old, demonstrating maturity beyond his age on the pitch against professional players.

In 2024, he set a record by appearing in all three formats of domestic cricket before he turned 14; a record that is still broken today. His fast-scoring century in the Under-19 quadrangular series is a signature innings and marks him as one of the brightest young players in Indian cricket.

IPL Breakthrough

The Rajasthan Royals created buzz in the IPL 2024 mini-auction by purchasing Vaibhav for ₹1.10 crore, one of the boldest acquisitions in IPL history. He made his IPL debut against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 19, 2025, in which he hit a six off the first ball he faced. A week later, he astonished fans and experts when he scored 101 not out off just 38 balls; at the time, he became the youngest T20 century maker and the second-fastest century in IPL history.

Beyond Cricket

Despite his early rise to fame, he remains humble and academically dedicated. He admires legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, and Ben Stokes. He aspires to mentor the next generation of players from Bihar one day.
