Bollywood Blind Items: Leeway For Influential Outsiders
A top studio is notorious for not allowing their lead actors to work on projects not produced by the studio until their much-coveted 3 film contract doesn't get over. While it is a dream of actors to land the three-film contract, it will be an understatement to say the three-film contract has adversely affected the careers of several actors. But a source pointed out how some influential outsiders have been able to avoid getting bogged down with the contract. Our source pointed at two influential actresses - both politically connected & on the studio's payroll, who worked on projects outside the studio. On the other hand, an actress who was once considered to be close to the studio boss spent several years for her 3 film contract to get done. She wasn't even offered a new contract later, much to the surprise of industry watchers. The cousin of a global star too wasn't given the luxury of working on projects outside the studio. The world is obviously unfair for the actors who don't have influential families to support them.
Out of the two actresses, one is the daughter of an ex-labour & home minister of the state. She joined the studio as part of the casting team & the casting agent not surprisingly spotted enormous talent in her, recommended her to the studio boss to be cast as the lead heroine in a movie (that's the story they want us to believe). The other actress is the granddaughter of an ex-CM. She is the current favorite of the studio & has a bright future ahead of her. She is dating the brother of a character actor who made it big post the success of a war movie in which he played the lead role. The brother too is an actor.
