Bollywood Blind Item: Broke Producer's Attempt At Extorting Money

This producer has made some iconic Bollywood movies especially in the comedy genre. But despite having produced some huge hits, he is rumored to be under financial strain. Some filmmakers have openly said that they are yet to be paid for the movies they directed for his production banner. The producer has sent a legal notice to a TV show which streams on a global platform. The show had a skit which had one character which was clearly inspired from one of his hit movies. The movie enjoys a cult following. The comedy show makers did nothing illegal. They are well within their right to use characters inspired from the movies. As per a source, the producer is bankrupt. He is trying to create a controversy hoping to make some money & to create some buzz around the sequel to the hit comedy franchise.

The producer in question is the cousin of another successful producer. They are rumored to have a strained relationship & aren't on talking terms. But they have helped each other out when they were in trouble. Surprisingly they both have made movies with one superstar in particular. The superstar has a great equation with both the warring cousins. The producer in question hasn't worked with the superstar for quite sometime as he couldn't afford the star's astronomical fees. A few years back, he was under severe financial strain & was served several legal notices for bounced cheques, unpaid dues & tax issues. His cousin on the other hand had no such issues & made tons of money from movies starring the superstar. The producer & his wife faced issues over possession of drugs, but the quantity was too minimal & they were let off.
