Bollywood Blind Item: Marquee Project Crashes At The Box Office

If we were to bet on the biggest Bollywood movie to release this year, we would bet on the sequel to this blockbuster action flick. The movie had two superstars - one from Bollywood & other from South Indian cinema, taking each other on & was directed by a filmmaker who had a 100%  track record at the box office. Bollywood's biggest studio was bankrolling the project. What could probably go wrong? As per a source, the studio boss was livid on Sunday over the box office performance of the movie. The movie has tanked at the box office. The future of the script writer at the studio is now under question. It is unlikely that the director of this movie will now be given the directorial reins of another blockbuster sequel, which will star his superstar BFF. A studio favorite who had a homecoming of sorts last year is likely to direct the sequel now - unless the superstar BFF insists on his buddy directing the movie. If the next movie in the studio's universe, which stars a female superstar, tanks, then it is highly likely that the sequel to a 2023 action blockbuster gets cancelled.

The underperformance of this action flick must have ruined the mood at the studio. They were jubilant after the stupendous success of  a romantic movie which went on to set the box office on fire. One can't blame the studio boss for hoping that this movie, too, would go on to achieve box office success. Sadly for the makers, the movie was panned by the audiences & critics alike. While the collections on the first few days gave fans a glimmer of hope, the movie completely crashed by the 4th day.
