Bollywood Blind Item: Producer Has Been Badmouthing A Singer
This sequel to a blockbuster comedy which released more than two decades ago seems to be a jinxed project. The producer's son was banging the superstar's sister-in-law. This led to a lot of friction between the producer & the superstar's families. The superstar decided not to be part of the sequel. After several years of waiting, the producer decided to make the movie with a fresh cast. A renowned singer-actor was also roped in for the project. But the singer started acting pricey & demanded several changes in the script. These issues led to the producer getting fed up with the singer-actor & dropping him when the singer-actor got involved in a controversy. The producer couldn't find a replacement & had to apologize to the singer-actor. But by then, the singer-actor had moved on. The project never took off post that & got shelved. As per a source, the producer is badmouthing the singer-actor to everyone who bothers to listen. The producer is blaming the singer-actor for the project getting shelved.
The singer-actor's demands were rumored to have made the producer furious. He popped champagne upon hearing about the singer-actor's troubles when he got involved in a major controversy. To be fair to the producer, the singer-actor must have made some unreasonable demands. He is known to be a spendthrift & his projects often went over budget. The producer's son whose career as a leading man is over, is the biggest collateral damage. He must be hoping that the sequel would salvage his career. He is now the only actor who is willing to shoot for the project. Both the other male leads have quit. The third actor quit when the dates for this project clashed with another prestigious project.
