This filmmaker has given two blockbusters in the horror comedy genre in the recent past. He has had a great record, even before that, with more hits than misses. When news about casting for his next project broke out, the managers of several celebrities swung into action. The filmmaker, too, was discussing several names with his team. As per a source, a young heartthrob with whom the filmmaker has delivered two blockbusters was eager to star in the movie & sent feelers to him. Bollywood's current numero uno was once the frontrunner for the project & even his competitor, who has a spy thriller geared up for release, was keen on bagging the project. But eventually, an A-list superstar with whom the filmmaker had worked a decade ago, bagged the project. The A-list superstar is, after all, the gold standard in the comedy genre. But the young heartthrob is unhappy about losing the project & was seen sulking over the loss.

Actors are touchy when it comes to bagging the projects of top filmmakers. Bankable filmmakers are few & most filmmakers work on just one project every 4 years. While actors have 1-2 releases every year. It becomes difficult to sustain their level of stardom if the top filmmakers, with whom the actors give their biggest hits, don't end up casting them in their subsequent projects. Speaking of the filmmaker in question, he once had a huge argument with another A+ list superstar while shooting for their movie abroad 14 years back. There were even rumors of the superstar slapping the filmmaker & the filmmaker leaving the shoot midway. It was the producer of the movie who asked the filmmaker to make peace with the superstar. The filmmaker was coming off a flop back then, while the superstar was at the peak of his career.
