Bollywood Blind Item: Studio Boss Is Miffed With South Superstar

This sequel to an action blockbuster was eagerly awaited by fans & industry folk alike. It starred two superstars from two different cinemas - Hindi & South. Both enjoy a formidable fan following. When it was revealed that these two titans would come together for a movie, it led to an instant buzz. An earth-shattering opening was a foregone conclusion. If their pairing wasn't enough, a talented filmmaker of showbiz lineage was signed on to direct the movie & the studio bankrolling it was arguably the biggest studio of Bollywood. A South Indian production house, too, was roped in for its release & distribution in South Indian languages. It felt like a fail-proof project. But the movie underperformed. The South Indian distributor openly blamed the Bollywood studio for its failure. He mentioned that he & the South Indian superstar paid the price for trusting the Bollywood studio blindly. As per sources, this did not go down well with the studio boss. His team got in touch with the distributor & the South Indian superstar to convey their displeasure. The studio boss has shadow banned the South Indian superstar & distributor from his studio. Filmmakers on the studio's payroll won't be considering the superstar for any upcoming projects in the near future.

Equations change every Friday in Bollywood. While flops lead to blame games & fallouts, there is no better glue than a hit film. Don't be too shocked if the shadow banned superstar gets a call back after a few years, once his box office stock soars again. An A-list superstar was approached by the studio boss in the 90's for a movie. While he loved the role, he did not end up signing the movie as the studio boss tried to arm twist the superstar to drastically reduce his fees. This tactic didn't work as the superstar was supremely confident of his box office prowess & talent. The studio eventually had to budge & ended up approaching the superstar several years later when he was at his peak. They ended up paying the superstar his market fee. This association led to a blockbuster spy franchise & another blockbuster sports movie.
