Bollywood Blind Item: TV Channel Resurrects Hit Celeb Show

TV channels & their OTT arms are relying heavily on Bollywood celebs to get more eyeballs. One top channel is planning to relaunch its hit TV show from the early 2000's. The show had a noted actor from the 80's era of Bollywood as the host. The show's format involved a top celeb being invited to the show. The host would invite the celeb's family & friends to show without the celeb's knowledge - which would end pleasantly surprising the celeb. The celeb's friends & family would regale the audiences by reminiscing about their sweet moments from their shared past. The show had a significant following & its episodes are still viewed by millions online. As per a source, the TV channel which produced the original has signed a South Indian actor who has acted in several Bollywood movies as well. His last Bollywood outing in a spy thriller ended up becoming Bollywood's biggest grosser ever. He has been part of Bollywood's TV & movie industries for more than two decades. The show's clean format is loved by the celebs as well. Unlike other chat shows, they will not have to make snide remarks to win a "hamper". The TV channel is lining up several A-list names for the show. At least one A+ list star has conformed his presence for the show.

 While celeb chat shows or podcasts online rely on clickbait quotes for the sake of views, the show in question had a clean format. Fans loved the way the jovial 60+ year old host took them down memory lane with their favorite celebs & their family/friends. No intrusive questions were asked & no cleb had to think twice before coming on to the show. Will the channel be able to repeat the same format or will they make it more tantalizing & scandalous to compete with celeb podcasts remains to be seen.
