Bollywood Blind Items: Superstar Doesn't Stand By Filmmaker Buddy

We had earlier written about this filmmaker's stock falling drastically after the sequel to a blockbuster action movie underperformed. He was supposed to direct another movie for the studio. The studio boss wanted to replace him from the blockbuster action franchise that would star his superstar BFF. But as per sources, the superstar BFF was about to insist that his filmmaker BFF be given the directorial reins of the project, despite his last movie's result. But as per the latest reports, the superstar did not push the studio boss to continue with his director buddy. Is it a case of the superstar putting his career over his friendship with the filmmaker? A studio favorite with a track record of successfully delivering action movies is likely to direct the sequel now. Ironically, the other director's last release starring two big stars, too, was a giant dud.

The superstar in question is known to be calm & composed even in the face of adversity. His close friends & family members have mentioned in interviews that the failures & successes of his movies don't affect him too much. A filmmaker son of a top filmmaker from the 90's is his close friend. But the superstar has never worked on a project with him - his bad box office track record is the likely reason. That filmmaker hasn't delivered a single box office hit. So despite his close friendship with the filmmaker, he has taken a practical decision not to work with him. This is unlike several stars from the 90's who prioritized their friendships over scripts, box office track record, etc. As expected, these celebs are now either playing character roles or leading roles in B-grade movies or are at the fag end of their careers as leading men in big-budget movies.
