Ben Stokes Roared His Comeback With A Stunning Half Century Against the Black Caps

Just before the 2023 World Cup, England’s ace player Ben Stokes returned to the ODI side for the mega event. In the match against New Zealand, he made his comeback and roared his return to the world with his beautiful half century.

Ben Stokes announced his retirement from this format of cricket in 2021 against South Africa, and he has reversed his decision so he will be playing for England in the World Cup 2023.

In the first match of the ODI series between the English team and the Black Caps, while batting first on the batting track of Cardiff, England’s test skipper contributed to his team with his knock of 52 in 69 balls and helped them post a fighting target of 291 for the opposition. In his knock, he struck one six over midwicket to complete his 22nd half century in his ODI career. He looked very calm at the crease while batting, but he could not strike more convencing boundaries; he scored just 18 runs through big shorts and left 34 runs he ran between the wickets.

He took the decision to retire from one-day cricket because he wanted to focus more on the other forms of the game, but England’s skipper Jos Buttler approached him to come back into the side for the World Cup 2023, which is going to be held in India, and Ben Stokes has plenty of experience playing in those conditions.

Ben Stokes is an asset for the English team in every form of the game.

Ben Stokes in World Cup 2019

He is the kind of player who always stands tall on big occasions; it is fair to say that he is the biggest match winner in the world right now because he has sown that capability on many occasions, like the Ashes 2019, the World Cup 2023, and also the T20 World Cup 2021. He was the key player in these tournaments. He also took the charge in the previous World Cup to make his team the world champion, and he also emerged as the player of the tournament. The English team hopes he will help them retain their title of World Champions.
