ICC World Cup 2023: Rohit Sharma to Lead, BCCI Announced India’s Squad
The ICC World Cup 2023 is going to start in October, and all the teams are displaying their squads for the mega event. BCCI also announced India’s 15 members for the event that is going to be held in India, with Rohit Sharma leading and Surya Kumar Yadav also retaining his place in the team.
BBCI has selected the expected squad for the ICC World Cup 2023. Before this squad for the Asia Cup 2023, there were 17 members in the team, but now Tilak Verma and fast bowler Prasidh Krishna could not make it into the squad. KL Rahul, who was a bit concerned due to his slight injury, was also in the team.
Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Ishan Kishan are the openers.
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are the first choice openers going into the World Cup 2023, along with Ishan Kishan is also selected as the third opener and for the duties of Wicket Kepper, but there are chances he might play in the middle order because of his brilliant performance in the Asia Cup in the middle order.
Middle order of the team for the ICC World Cup 2023
Virat Kohli will be at number three for Team India in the gigantic tournament, and Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul will be numbers four and five for the team, along with all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who will also play at number six for India as an all-rounder. These players will make a strong middle order for the team. Surya Kumar is also selected as the middle-order option.
Lower order of the team for the ICC World Cup 2023
Sir Jadeja and Lord Shardul Thakur will be at numbers seven and eight for the team. Jadeja and Shardul are both all-rounders; both have the ability to show some magic with the bat, and India hopes that they will fire at the right time for their side. Axar Patel could also make himself into the starting eleven some time, as he is also in the squad.
Strong bowling line-up of Team India for the ICC World Cup 2023
Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav are more likely to be the bowlers in the first-choice playing eleven in the match against Australia. Mohammed Shami is the fourth bowling option for the team.
KL Rahul is still struggling with injury, which is a concern for the side, but he has time to recover. On the other hand, the selection of Surya Kumar Yadav is hype because he has been selected because of his x factor.
