Hritik Roshan Recalls Being Bullied By Seniors In School!!

Resilience and Triumph: Hrithik Roshan's Journey from Bullying to Stardom

Celebrated actor Hrithik Roshan's illustrious journey in Bollywood commenced 23 years ago with his debut in the romantic drama 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai.' From this humble beginning, Hrithik has evolved into one of the most versatile and talented stars in the Hindi film industry. While his remarkable performances have earned him widespread acclaim, his success story is underpinned by a resolute spirit that emerged from his own childhood struggles.

Hrithik Roshan's cinematic repertoire is marked by his dedication to leaving an indelible mark with each role. One such standout performance was in the film 'Koi... Mil Gaya,' directed by his father Rakesh Roshan. This movie presented Hrithik in a distinct and transformative avatar as Rohit Mehra, a character with the sensibilities of an 11-year-old who also happened to be developmentally challenged. The portrayal won him accolades for authentically representing a character with disabilities.

As the film commemorates its 20th anniversary, Hrithik took a moment to reflect on how deeply he connected with the character of Rohit. He unveiled a poignant parallel between his on-screen persona and his real-life experiences, revealing the hurdles he faced during his childhood due to bullying and a speech impediment.

Hrithik shared, "I related with Rohit's character completely. Growing up, I was bullied due to my stutter. On days I wouldn't want to go to school and I would cry to my mother. In fact, the scene where Rohit's scooty is broken by Raj and his friends actually happened to me in real life. I had a BMX cycle that was my most treasured possession as a child. My cycle was broken by some senior boys, and I was heartbroken. The vulnerability that was required for Rohit's character, life had already given me through my personal experiences."

Released on August 8, 2003, 'Koi... Mil Gaya' not only introduced India to its first science fiction film but also introduced the endearing extra-terrestrial character 'Jadoo.' To celebrate the film's two-decade milestone, the creators decided to re-release it in theaters, igniting a wave of nostalgia among viewers.

Hrithik, visibly elated by the film's rekindled popularity, expressed his gratitude for the enduring love and support from his audience. He shared, "Koi...Mil Gaya and the Krrish franchise are some of my most proud moments as an actor. It's heartwarming to see all the love 'Koi...Mil Gaya' is receiving from the re-release. I'm so happy that the film is bringing kids back to theatres with their families. As an artist, the love from my audience is my biggest reward, and I'm overwhelmed seeing all the nostalgia it's generating and the love that our film is garnering."

Reflecting on the film's creation, Hrithik emphasized the significance of the filmmaking process and the heartfelt dedication poured into 'Koi... Mil Gaya.' The sweet surprise of its success remains a cherished memory for both him and his father, Rakesh Roshan.
