Anupam Kher On Success Of The Kashmir Files

 

 

 

 For the unversed, The Kashmir Files is a new movie released in Bollywood, directed by Vivek Agnihotri been running the box office upside down since its big release on Friday, 11 March 2022. The movie was initially released on limited screens.

The movie tells the true story of the brutal sufferings of Kashmiri Pandits who suffered during the Kashmir insurgency in 1990.

When Anupam Kher was interviewed regarding his excellent performance in the movie. He replied, on a personal level, he has a lot of emotions involved in it.

“I feel the Kashmiri Pandits community who witnessed the inhuman behavior were forgotten for 32 years. The feelings they went through, the murders, the destruction, the emotional damage have to be portrayed. how they were forced to leave their own valley and what could be a better platform to make people aware about the community” says Kher.

 He threw light on the controversies labeling the movie as "anti-muslim." He told the media that only terrorists' perspectives have been narrated in the movie and the Kashmiri pandits were side-tracked. It is an anti-terrorist movement and not anti-muslim. The people should not the movie and the political propaganda and rather feel the difficulties through which those Kashmiris went.

He also added, “I feel euphoric after seeing the reaction of the audience. It is so overwhelming.” He himself couldn’t find tickets, such is the demand.
