Anurag Kashyap To Direct John Abraham In Ayyapannum Koshiyum Remake

ANURAG KASHYAP has been brought on board to WRITE AND DIRECT the Hindi adaptation of Malyalam film 'AYYAPANNUM KOSHIYUM' which will star JOHN ABRAHAM and ARJUN KAPOOR, making KASHYAP's reunion with ABRAHAM after 15 Years post NO SMOKING. JOHN will essay the role of an upright cop played by BIJU MENON and ARJUN will play the role of an Ex Army Officer played by PRITHVIRAJ SUKUMARAN in the Malyalam film which will focus on the EGO BATTLES between Two Toxic Men in their own sense rooted in a Desi Commercial Action Drama 

Earlier, the film was supposed to be directed by JAGAN SHAKTI (Mission Mangal), but JOHN didnt find his script apt enough to justify the scale and brilliance of the Malyalam Film and the film got shelved in DECEMBER 2021. With his collaboration with SAJID KHAN being put on backburner along with the Box Office Failure of ATTACK, JOHN decided to revive the remake and has appraoched KASHYAP to take over, which he agreed in principle and has already started working on re-writing the script in order to start shooting for the film from OCTOBER 2022, as by that time JOHN will be done with shooting for 'TEHRAN' and ARJUN will wrap up his portions of 'THE LADY KILLER'

As far as KASHYAP is concerned, his supposedly next film which was his adaptation of QUENTIN TARANTINO's cult revenge thriller 'KILL BILL', with NIKHIL DWIVEDI as Producer and KRITI SANON as the main lead, has been POSTPONED due to Creative differences between KASHYAP and DWIVEDI. Apart from that, he is currently scripting his next WEB SERIES which will be based on SUKETU MEHTA's bestselling Crime Thriller 'MAXIMUM CITY' and is also looking for buyers for his film with ALAYA F in the lead which is a LOVE STORY. His next release is 'DOBAARA', which stars TAAPSEE PANNU and PAVAIL GULATI on AUGUST 19, 2022. 'DOBAARA' is a Horror Thriller related to TIME TRAVEL, which is produced by EKTA KAPOOR and SUNIR KHETRPAL and is a Hindi adaptation of Spanish Film 'MIRAGE.
