At the box office, Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan continues YRF Spy Universe's record of 100 percent blockbuster movies

Pathaan, featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham and helmed by Siddharth Anand, is breaking box office records and enjoying a dream run at the box office. In just two days, the film has earned Rs. 123 crore nett in India for its Hindi version alone, with a gross worldwide total of Rs. 219.60 crore. The film broke two single-day records for the Hindi version of any film released in India on two consecutive days, and it is already on its way to breaking other long-term records.

In short, the picture is a box office success. Pathaan's box office success is another another feather in the cap of Yash Raj Flicks, which has a flawless record for all of the spy films it has produced, from Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai to War and now Pathaan.

Yash Raj Films is one of the most successful movie production houses, with mega-hits spanning five decades. They have done films which includes Kaala Patthar, Kabhi Kabhie, Chandani, Silsila, Darr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, Mohabbatein, Chak De India, Dhoom series, Veer Zaara, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Ek The Tiger, Sultan, War, Tiger Zinda Hai, and recently Pathaan. They began as a production company but have now grown into an entire ecosystem in which they can distribute films and make their own music.

Yash Raj Films' best commercial bet has been the development of their own Spy Universe, which is already reaping huge rewards in terms of box office numbers. Their four spy movies have all been certified blockbusters, and Tiger 3 is the next one following Pathaan.

Yash Raj Films as a production house has been in tatters from Covid-19, when they had four consecutive commercial failures theatrically, from Bunty Aur Babli 2 to Shamshera, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Samrat Prithviraj. Pathaan has broken their dry spell, and it is now hoped that Tiger 3 will take up the leadership. Meanwhile, you may see Pathaan in a theatre near you.
