Celebrities in Hollywood speak about various causes & charities they support at every chance they get, including the marquee events like the Oscars & the grammys. Whereas Bollywood stars rarely speak about causes close to their heart. Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Nana Patekar are the few celebs who speak about social causes. The rest are a completely self centered. Hollywood celebs like Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Gertz, Barbra Streisand, Matthew McConaughey, Meryl Streep and many more are staunch environment & climate change warriors, can be seen driving a Toyota Prius - which is known to be a non polluting hybrid vehicle.
On the other hand Bollywood Celeb & even cricketers are seen roaming around in petrol guzzling SUV's, chartered flights & never bother to car pool. Thats why when these Bollywood celebs preach fans celebrate Indian festivals responsibly they face a severe backlash. Indian celebs should lead example when it comes to social causes & need to have a sense of responsibility towards society which has given them so much love, money & respect.
The fans prefer to follow what their favourite stars do so if the actor spread the word of social clauses then they must also follow it.
