Boman Irani, who is currently enjoying success with his recently released film 'Uunchai,' initially declined the offer to star in the film.

'Uunchai,' directed by Sooraj Barjatya, stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa, Neena Gupta, Sarika, and Parineeti Chopra among others.

"Due to personal issues and work obligations, I had to decline the role when Sooraj Ji first approached me. Then, one day, I got a call from Anupam Kher. He started ranting at me before I could even say hello. Anupam had just heard the script read by Sooraj sir and was so moved by it that he wanted to know who was in it. He called as soon as he found out I had rejected the film "Boman stated.

The actor said that he knew the intention behind Anupam's scolding.

"I knew that behind all of the chastisement was pure love, friendship, and his concern for me." He genuinely wanted me to do this film because I would be a part of history, he said. He was certain that 'Uunchai' would break records with this cast. "I had the best time of my life working on this film; it was a spiritual experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life," he said.

Boman stated about director Sooraj Barjatya, "I appreciate Sooraj Ji's desire for an actor who would do justice to Javed's character. He also mentioned that working with this star cast was his dream, referring to us as his dream team, which left me feeling extremely overwhelmed."

Boman will next be seen in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki,' starring Shah Rukh Khan.
