Is AR Rahman's Magic Fading?

Whether you are a music lover or not, no matter what, you can’t deny the fact of a different magical taste. A.R.Rahman's compositions hold that leaves you another world. Having started his journey in the film industry with “Roja” in 1992, Rahman went on to establish his signature of fusing various musical elements in his compositions that include the classical and the contemporary, and the very earthy sounds of nature. His music changed the tunes of Bollywood music, taking Indian sounds on a global tour. He not only revolutionized the Bollywood industry but also changed the musical taste of South Indian movies.

His sensational song “Jai Ho” from slumdog millionaire is among the most favored and superhit. But lately, he has been losing all the spark and magic in Bollywood. The previous hits of AR Rahman such as Dil Se Re, Tum Tak, Sadda Haq, Tu Hai, etc. are some great musical hits but as compared to them, the fame of Rihaayi De, Chaka Chak, Param Sundari stands nowhere.

What could be the reason behind this? Is AR Rahman’s fees an issue? This might be a reason behind his fading fame. Prior to Oscar and Grammy-winning Indian composer AR Rahman charged a fee around Rs 4-5 crores while after the award-winning he hiked his movie remuneration to Rs 9 crores. On the other hand, when AR Rahman was asked why he is not actively composing music for Bollywood movies, he claimed that a gang that due to misunderstandings is spreading some false rumours and disbalancing his career. This could be another reason blocking AR Rahman from working. Else, we have no idea about what actually happened behind the curtains.
