The film "Salaam Venky" featuring Kajol, and Vishal Jethwa was released on 9 December. Suraj Singh and Shraddha Agrawal produced the film through their banners, Blive Productions, and RTake Studios, respectively. This film is directed by Revathi. It is made on a budget of 30 crores.

But it is said to have leaked online just hours after it opened in theatres and has since been downloaded by numerous pirate sites.

The Revathy-directed film is reportedly now accessible in HD prints on several pirate websites. This film was not the first to be leaked online. Recently released films like "Freddy," "Drishyam 2," and others all suffered the same fate.

The film revolves around a true story of a mother who does everything that she can do to let her son, diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, live life to the fullest.

Revathi and Kajol announced this film on 7 October 2021. Principal photography for the film began on 11 February 2022, and its first schedule took place in Mumbai. The main shots of the film were completed in February-April 2021 and wrapped in October.

The slice-of-life picture starring Kajol garnered mainly favorable reviews from critics and other members of the industry, but it flopped at the box office on its opening day. Salaam Venky has a long way to go before being deemed a box office success because it is nowhere near the Rs 1 crore threshold. 

Only Rs 20 lakh net was brought in on Salaam Venky's opening day, claims trade website Box Office India. Positive reviews and upbeat word of mouth, however, are anticipated to help the movie perform better in the coming days.
