Karan Johar makes his directorial debut with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, who previously appeared in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy. Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi will also play important roles in the film. The new release date has been announced by the filmmaker. Karan announced on Saturday via social media that the film will be released on April 28, 2023.

Churni Ganguli and Tota Roy Chowdhury are on the team. I've worked with Aamir Bashir, Kshitee Jog, and Anjali Anand, among others. We have a large cast of new actors, and it's a family love story with a large ensemble. It contains all of the elements in the film that I have enjoyed watching and have always included in my films. The songs and dances - it's a celebratory film, and I can't wait for everyone to dive into the world of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani."
