Following her company's successful IPO (initial public offering) on November 10, 2021, beauty entrepreneur Falguni Nayar, founder and CEO of Nykaa, has surpassed Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, creator of Biocon, as the country's wealthiest self-made woman billionaire.

Falguni started her own company, FSN E-Commerce Ventures Limited, in 2012 after an 18-year career as an investment banker with Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, where she eventually climbed to the position of Managing Director.

Under the Nykaa brand – which is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Nayaka,' which means actress – the company offers a wide range of beauty goods in areas such as makeup, skincare, haircare, and fragrance.
Falguni was ranked fourth among self-made billionaires last year, behind Kiran Mazumdar, Radha Vembu of Zoho, and Jayshree Ullal of Arista Networks.

Falguni has risen to the top of the Kotak Wealth Hurun India Leading (Self-Made) Wealthy Women List as a result of Nykaa's IPO.

Her net worth is estimated to be INR 54,850 crore, according to the study. HCL Corporation, a holding company that owns HCL Tech and HCL Infosystems, currently has Roshni as its CEO and Executive Director. Roshni earned a bachelor's degree in communications and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Roshni worked as a news producer for Sky News UK and CNN America before joining HCL.

2. KIRAN MAZUMDAR SHAW
The Kotak Wealth Hurun - Leading Wealthy Women List 2020 places Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, the founder and CEO of Biocon, in second place. Her net worth is estimated to be INR 36,600 crore, according to the study. Kiran founded Biocon in 1978 and has guided the company to success in the fields of complicated APIs and molecular biology. Kiran is also a member of the Infosys board of directors. Kiran is the first Indian woman business leader to join the Giving Pledge. The Hurun Most Respected Entrepreneur of the Year award was given to Kiran in 2017.

3. LEENA GANDHI TEWARI

Leena is the CEO of USV, a privately held company that is a pioneer in diabetic and cardiovascular drugs in India, as well as APIs and biosimilars and other medical solutions. Vithal Gandhi, Leena's grandfather, founded USV in 1961 in collaboration with Revlon. The domestic market accounts for roughly 80% of USV's revenue.

4. NILIMA MOTAPARTI

Nilima joined Divi's Laboratories as a Chief Controller (Commercial) in 2012 with over five years of international expertise in material demand, planning, and financing.

5. RADHA VEMBU
On the Kotak Wealth Hurun - Leading Wealthy Women List 2020, Radha Vembu, the sister of Zoho creator Sridhar, is ranked fifth. Her net worth is estimated to be INR 11,590 crore, according to the research. Radha joined Zoho, which was created by her older brother Sridhar in 1997, after graduating from IIT-Madras. Zoho has provided free remote working solutions to businesses following the Coronavirus epidemic.

6. JAYSHREE ULLAL

Renu is the current Managing Director of Hero FinCorp and the former Executive Director of Hero MotoCorp. Renu is also passionate about projects that promote women's empowerment.


8. MALIKA CHIRAYU AMIN

9. ANU AGA & MEHER PUDUMJEE
Anu Aga and Meher Pudumjee of Thermax are ranked ninth on the Kotak Wealth Hurun - Leading Wealthy Women List 2020, with a combined wealth of INR 5,850 crore. After reaching the age of 76, Anu stepped down from the Thermax board of directors in 2018.
