Internationally, plane hijackings have long been a problem. Due to the ongoing problem of terrorism in the nation, India has also had instances of aeroplane hijacking in the past. Numerous movies on the hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814 have been produced since.

A plane headed to Delhi is hijacked by six terrorists in the movie's plot. In order to avoid killing the hostages, the terrorists begged their allies to release them while they terrorised. The actual hijacking of IC 814 is the inspiration for the movie.
