Aditya Chopra’s Big Fallout With Chandraprakash Dwivedi
Chairman of Yash Raj Films, Aditya Chopra runs a talent management agency group consisting a coterie of actors and directors. One of them was, Chandraprakash Dwivedi, a director and a script writer who has directed movies like ‘Mohalla Assi’ and ‘Pinjar’, entered into a major beef with Aditya Chopra.
Dwivedi had been struggling to find the right directors for his story of Prithviraj Chauhan until he met with the chairman of YRF. The movie stars Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar. Although the shoot of the movie has already been over, Aditya Chopra was compelled to fire Chandraprakash Dwivedi from the group as the director gave the announcement of his next, ‘Ram Setu’, without any negotiations with YRF whatsoever.
According to a source of Bollywood Hungama, ‘Dwivedi discussed the Ram Setu script with Akshay Kumar who liked it and he immediately shot a poster and made the announcement official. He never bothered to speak to Adi, despite the latter roping him in as the newest talent in the YRF directors’ department. So he got upset and fired Chandraprakash.’
Chandraprakash has also been ostracised from the post production responsibilities of a director. His name will be added in the credits section but he will no longer be part of the editing team of ‘Prithviraj’. It seems that Aditya has been extremely disappointed by Dwivedi’s behaviour.
