Advance Ticket Sales For Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar Surpass 1 Crore, And The Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor Movie Is Expected To Do Well

Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar has had a strong opening weekend at the box office with solid advance booking returns.

The advance ticket sales for Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, the upcoming high-profile Bollywood film that will be released in 2023, began on Sunday, five days before the film's release. The movie is expected to start off on a very good note, which should provide some comfort to a terribly stressed out film industry, if early trends are any indicator.

No Hindi film set for release in 2023 has performed very well up till Pathaan. Selfiee and Shehzada, two high-profile releases, had underwhelming performances. Several industry insiders have been betting on Luv Ranjan's Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar to defy the trend and provide the industry some relief during this trying time. The advance booking for the movie started on Sunday, and thus far, it has been going well.

In India, the movie had sold 30,000 seats by Sunday night, bringing in nearly Rs 1 crore from advance sales for all days. According to Sacnilk, with approximately 22,000 tickets sold, the first day advance booking gross alone was Rs 68 lakh. The rate of sales indicates that a good opening and a relatively high advance booking are both expected for the movie.

Based on existing patterns, trade analysts expect the movie's first weekend gross to be Rs 15 crore. At that amount, it would rank behind triumphs like Pathaan, Brahmastra, Sooryavanshi, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and in front of hits like Gangubai Kathiawadi as the fifth-highest opening Hindi film post-pandemic. Trade sources claim that the pre-sales show that the movie will do better than anticipated.

In the romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Ranbir and Shraddha are matched opposite one another for the first time. Boney Kapoor, a director, and comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi make their acting debuts in the movie, which also stars Dimple Kapadia. For Holi, it is scheduled to open in theatres on March 8.
