Before The Release Of Pathaan, Zee Studios Thought About Joining Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan But Decided Against It Because The Acquisition Cost Was Over Rs. 300 Crores

The anticipation for Jawan has increased significantly as a result of Pathaan's 500 crore rupee box office success.

Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan is a classic box office success, and he has now started work on his next two movies, Jawan and Dunki. His upcoming film, Jawan, has received a lot of buzz already, especially after its massive first look teaser was released last year. Also, it is directed by South director Atlee, who is aware of the audience's pulse. The anticipation for Jawan has increased significantly as a result of Pathaan's 500 crore rupee box office success.

Fascinatingly, it's unclear who will distribute and release Jawan at this time. Bollywood Hungama was looking into it when we discovered some intriguing information. According to a source who spoke to Bollywood Hungama, "Zee Studios was in talks with Shah Rukh Khan's production company Red Chillies Entertainment, who are also the producers of Jawan, to join as the studio partner over six months ago. But, Zee was forced to decline when the acquisition cost beyond Rs. 300 crores and reached to Rs. 350 crores.

"These negotiations took place almost six months ago," the insider stated. During this period, movies were failing all over the place. In addition, Pathaan, which hadn't even opened yet, had astounded the trade and industry by amassing more than Rs. 70 crores in a single day. Thus, Zee presumably made the decision to back out because they thought it might not be profitable. The insider, however, is unable to provide an update on the current situation, including whether Zee Studios has rekindled its interest in the project or whether another studio has started talking to Jawan's creators.

Jawan also stars Priya Mani and Sanya Malhotra in addition to Shah Rukh Khan. The antagonist is apparently being played by Vijay Sethupathi, who recently made his breakthrough in Hindi-speaking markets with the well-regarded online series Farzi. According to rumours, Shah Rukh will be filming a large chase sequence on Friday, February 17, which is the penultimate scheduled shoot day for the movie. The movie Jawan debuts in theatres on June 2, 2023.
