Bold Scenes Were Not the Reason For Chay Samantha Divorce

On August 8, Actor Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala shares their engagement pictures on the Instagram and people were in awe of them. It marks a significant new chapter in their life. It has been roughly three years since his divorce from actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the couple's separation was announced, but the reasons behind it was never been publicly disclosed. However, in the toxic space of social media, actress Samantha became the target of the blame, with people accusing her of being the cause of the divorce.

Why are women always targeted for divorce?

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu was not an exception to the prejudiced criticism that women get, even though they have not revealed explanations for their divorce. There were many rumors that Samantha's bold moments in "The Family Man 2" would have tensed their relationship as it was against Chaitanya's family's traditional beliefs. But this pov of the story only harmed Chaitanya's reputation since it shows narrow-mindedness of the Akkineni family at odds with the progressive thinking. Chaitanya's family is well-known for having a long history in the cinema business and have gained lots of respect and love from the audience. But however, this rumour is may not true since Sobhita has played much more bold roles compared to Samantha's.

Apparently, after the news broke about the engagement Sobhita is facing lots of criticism from the audience, she is being called a "homewrecker". People can become very mean sometimes, they are constantly comparing her to Samantha on Instagram, and her comment sections are flooded with hate comments. The speed with which society places blame on women, even if it is not their fault, shows how frequently they spare the males from the same situation, is concerning.

This case is not only limited to Sobhita but also draws attention to a larger problem in society, which is that why women are always held accountable and judged for somethings that are beyond their control, specially in relationships. Sobhita's case serve as a seroius reminder to all those pervasive gender prejudices that hold women responsible for bad romantic outcomes, sometimes with no proof in reality.
