Breathe: Into the Shadows – Review

Read our review of the second season of Prime Video’s hit show – Breathe starring Abhishek Bachchan & Amit Sadh.

Breathe is a new drama story starring Abhishek Bachchan along with Nithya Menen, Amit Sadh, Saiyami Kher, Shruti Bapna, Plabita Borthakur, Shrikant Verma and Hrishikesh Joshi. The story sets a dark tone on how a father’s love for his daughter can give or take life. The series is directed by Mayank Sharma. The series is now streaming on Amazon Prime.

The story starts with the kidnapping of the daughter of a reputed psychiatrist Dr Avinash Sabharwal (Abhishek Bachchan) gets kidnapped. Avinash and his wife (Nithya Menen) lose all hopes that their daughter is alive. But 9 months after the kidnapping, the kidnapper contacts Avinash. The kidnapper doesn’t demand money from the couple; instead, he tells Avinash that he will have to kill some people if he wants his daughter. Why does the kidnapper choose Avinash’s daughter? Does the kidnapper have some relation with Avinash? Why does the kidnapper want those people to die? Watch the series to get the answers.

Everything that is put into the web series is thrilling and engaging throughout the 12 episodes. Editing and cinematography are also done beautifully. It is one of those series without any editing flaws. Talking about the performance, it is Abhishesk’s one of the finest performances in his career. Amit Sadh has also delivered a good performance, is expressions were fabulous. I liked Nithya Menen’s acting during the climax scenes. It is difficult to make people laugh in such dark series but Hrishikesh Joshi and Shrikant Verma made it happen with their outstanding comedy timings.

The pace does get slow in between, but it picks up pace towards the end. The series could have been two episodes shorter.

I would say this series is one of the finest works from Amazon prime. You must give it a watch and you will be engaged in the story for sure.
