Deepika Padukone’s PR Needs To Be Sacked
Deepika Padukone is making one PR blunder after another. Does she need a new PR team? Read our article by Purvi for more details!
After ‘Chhapaak’ had a below-expectation opening on day one, a section of Twitter users started trolling Deepika saying her JNU gesture has backfired and affected the opening day business of her movie. Her JNU visit did not go down well with a section of netizens as they criticized it as a publicity stunt for her latest release then ‘Chhapaak’.
On the other hand, this lead to netizens lauding Ajay Devgn’s ‘Tanhaji’ which was released on the same day with ‘Chhapaak’. ‘Tanhaji’ collected a whopping Rs. 15.10 crore at the domestic box office, as a result, Twitter users were being even more unkind while tweeting about Deepika’s ‘Chhapaak’. Comparing the bookings and numbers of shows of both movies, this is a lesson for all the stars doing PR stunts before release.
On World Mental Health Day, Deepika tweeted the launch of her closet where one can own some of her favourite outfits. The tweet also had a video that ran for 43 seconds where she mentioned that the sales proceeds would go towards supporting those struggling with mental illness through her Live Love Laugh Foundation. But because it is being shared on social media platforms, the team also needs to evaluate how to structure the content differently, depending on each platform’s specific nuances.
It looks like the team wrote only one script and used it across Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with no change whatsoever. Observe the badly placed commas; it is same in all the platforms. This is just a lazy work by Deepika’s PR and social media. Without watching the video, the tweet and the Facebook post looks horribly awkward and terribly framed.
All these stunts and ignorance by the PR is affecting Deepika’s fan following and influence. She is getting trolled because of the PR in many ways which isn’t good for her at this phase.
