Do You Know OMG 2 Was Rejected By Karan Johar!!

Following the film's successful box office performance, director Amit Rai has unveiled the surprising fact of its rejection by Karan Johar.

Karan Johar turned down OMG 2, but Akshay Kumar stepped in to help the director, joking that his kids could have turned the script into paper airplanes.

Akshay Kumar has once again demonstrated his expertise in delivering successful films with impactful social messages. Following a challenging period at the box office last year, his most recent release, OMG 2, has achieved remarkable success. However, the journey of OMG 2, from its inception to its release, has been marked by significant difficulties. Initially, the production faced scrutiny from the CBFC and underwent substantial edits before reaching theaters. Director Amit Rai has shared his perspective on the film.

In the midst of Akshay Kumar's film enjoying box office triumph, the director has made astonishing and captivating revelations in a post-release interview. Rai, who directed the movie, has unveiled how the film encountered resistance from various filmmakers who declined to support it. Recently, OMG 2's director, Amit Rai, disclosed that numerous producers, including Karan Johar and Ashutosh Gowariker, turned down the project. However, Akshay Kumar stepped in and rescued the film by taking on the role. In an interview, director Amit Rai expressed, "Do they truly understand the challenges we face after having our script rejected by numerous producers? Sony, Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowariker, and others all passed on the script. Ultimately, Akshay Kumar displayed the courage to champion it."

"He displayed a genuine receptiveness to the script and emphasized the importance of bringing the film to life. His involvement is the reason we've endured, otherwise 'OMG 2' might never have come to fruition. My path led me to Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah, and Rajesh Bahl, and through them, I eventually connected with Akshay Kumar. Without that connection, the script could have languished, perhaps transformed into paper airplanes by my children or repurposed as a vessel for snacks. After securing an actor and investing over Rs 50 crore into the project, the CBFC's pronouncement of disapproval arrives."

"Despite a significant showdown with Gadar 2, OMG 2 has impressively amassed approximately 80 crores at the box office and is steadily approaching the 100 crore milestone."
