Do You Know Vikrant Massey Left Rs 35 Lakh Per Month TV Contract!!

Now basking in the success of his 2023 film '12th Fail,' which has taken the world by storm since it was released on OTT, Vikrant Massey disclosed that he left a Rs 35 lakh per month TV deal for films.

Vikrant recently discussed his decision to pursue a career in film instead of television acting, where he was making Rs 35 lakh a month, in an interview with Unfiltered by Samdish.
The '12th Fail' actor also disclosed that his earnings from television work were significant, adding that by the time he was 24 years old, he had already bought his first home.
The actor went on to express his mounting unease about the amount of regressive material that appears on television.

This unease, together with a desire to investigate other avenues, made him consider making the switch to film. Vikrant claims that this happened to him after he paid off all of his debts and completed his financial commitments to his parents.

Vikrant Massey criticized the proliferation of misogynistic content on television, attributing it to the pursuit of TRP ratings. He lamented the lack of originality in storytelling, with many shows resorting to repetitive themes to appease audiences. Massey also shed light on the influence of MBAs in dictating plotlines, often based on internal research, which led to the production of hour-long "maha episodes." Despite finding success in shows like "Balika Vadhu," where his cameo role extended to two years due to popular demand, Massey expressed feeling underutilized in subsequent projects and a lack of creative fulfillment.

In less than a year, Vikrant said, his money went out, putting him through a difficult time financially. During this time, Vikrant disclosed that Sheetal Thakur, his current wife, helped him out by giving him pocket money for four to five months so he could go to movie auditions.

For the unverse, '12th Fail,' starring Vikrant Massey, is based on actual events and centres on UPSC hopefuls. Inspector Shraddha Joshi of the IRS is portrayed by Medha Shankar, and Vikrant makes a strong impression as IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma.

Vikrant Massey will next be seen with Taapsee Pannu in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba and in an untitled web series that is created by Rajkumar Hirani.
In the meantime, "12th Fail" has been nominated for an Oscar in 2024 as an independent entry.
