Facts about Parineeta Ankola - Salil Ankola's 1st Wife

Cricketer and actor Salil Ankola’s first wife Parineeta Ankola committed suicide at her mother’s residence in Geeta Society in Salisbury Park area of Gultekdi. She was 46 when this happened. A suicide note was discovered from the suicide spot which clearly mentioned that she took the drastic step out of frustration.

The inspector in charge of Swargate police station said, “A suicide note has been recovered from her residence, stating that she has committed suicide due to frustration. She has written in the note that no one should be held responsible for her death. There’s no mention of Salil Ankola.”

The suicide note said, "I am fed up of my life. Nobody is responsible for my death. My parents have been nice to me. My children are now older and my responsibility is now over."

She committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her room with a dupattta at around 8pm.

“Her family members had stepped out of the house in the afternoon and returned around 8 pm. They found Parineeta’s body suspended from the ceiling fan,” he added.

Parineeta had a disturbed marital life. She got divorced from Salil Ankola in 2010 after Salil became addicted to alcohol. Salil played for India in 1996 but when he failed to do much in cricket, he tried his hand in films and serials but it too did not work. He sent legal notice to his wife of 18 years through his lawyer in 2010. The reason of the divorce had stated that "various factors have led to a breakdown of marital relationship".

After separation from Salil, Parineeta was staying with her parents with her two children. Parineeta’s body was taken to Sassoon hospital late at that night for autopsy.
