Govinda & Wife Sunita's Powerful Love Story

Gonvinda was the superstar of his time. He had a huge fan following not just for his acting but also his amazing dance performances. Many of his songs and hock steps are still famous and followed by a mass of people. During his time, there used to be many rumours of his link ups with heroines. He also kept his marriage under cover for a long time. Their love life has had many ups and downs but sticked to each other.  Today, we will be talking about his love story with wife, Sunita. 

Sunita's sister is married to Govinda's maternal uncle. During the early days of Govinda's career, he used to stay with his uncle. And Sunita used visit her didi and jiju a lot. This was the beginning of their story. Both of them were young and used to fight a lot. They have opposite personalities, Govinda is a humble man who wants everything desi and he found Sunita to be very unfriendly. He thought her to be a cunning person. 

What bought them together was their love for dancing. Govinda's uncle always encouraged them to take part in dance competitions but Sunita always delayed saying she belonged to a high class society and Govinda belonged to a small town. After a lot of fights, they started falling for each other. Sunita says, Govinda is a very emotional person and this helped her transform her views. They used to write love letters to each other, and one such letter was caught by Sunita's mother. In the letter, Sunita wrote she wants to get married to Govinda as soon as possible. Govinda's mother was very fond of Sunita.

Though there was no trouble from the families still their marriage was a secret. Govinda was said that if he reveals his marriage in the public, his female fan following would decrease. And he decided to keep it a secret as he was at the peak of his career. They got married in March 1987. Govinda was 24 and Sunita was 18 when they tied the knot. 

They have two children, one daughter, Narmmada Ahuja who was born in 1988 and a son, Yashvardhan Ahuja who was born in 1997. Yasvardhan is preparing for his entry in the industry. While, everyone knows about thier two children, only a few of us would know that they had another daughter who died at 4 months as she was a prematured baby. 

Govinda regreted that he had to keep his marriage a secret, so on their 25th marriage anniversary, they decided to remarry with all the rituals.
