Guess Who: Actor Rethinks His Career Strategy
Rajeev Masand has published a blind item in Open The Magazine about a popular actor who is rethinking his career strategy.
This actor has been acting paranoid since the failure of two of his movies. He ditched his buddy & filmmaker by walking out of their movie, after shooting for a few scenes. On the personal front too, he things have not been going great. He was supposed to get married in May to his GF of many years at a destination wedding in Thailand. But he had to cancel it due to the coronavirus outbreak.
It doesn’t help that his peers have been doing very well. In fact there are more competitors than ever for the kind of roles he would be interested. But such is the life of actors. The truly talented overcome all obstacles & graduate to become permanent A-listers. He does have the talent & backing in form of a successful filmmaker father & a big shot mentor to help him get there.
Meanwhile we heard that the filmmaker mentioned in the blind item too is a weirdo. He was frightened by his success! When his movies did better than expected, he ran away as he was unable to cope with the huge expectations people ahd from him.
Blind Item
A popular young actor who has had back-to-back duds in expensive commercial projects is reportedly spending lockdown rethinking his career strategy. The actor has never made any bones about the fact that he wants to be a ‘masala hero’, but recent failures have made him question whether he needs to expand his scope of work. Earlier attempts to stretch his range with meaningful films yielded encouraging responses from fans and critics.
Yet, he doesn’t want to do what he has described to his inner circle as “hardcore niche films”. (Whatever that means!) According to the industry grapevine, he’s been having regular chats with one young filmmaker whose two films were both high-concept, ‘content driven’ crowd pleasers with shrewdly integrated social commentary. He’s badgered him to come up with something that would suit his oversized personality, and turns out they’ve agreed on a dark comedy with monster movie undertones. More soon; watch this space.
