Guess Who: These Stars Are Dying To Strike A Deal
A leading tabloid has published a blind item about stars who are dying to strike a deal with a streaming platform.
As per the blind item, stars are tripping over themselves to ink a deal with a streaming platform. A bankable star who used to charge 25cr-40cr per film plus profit sharing, is now charging just 10cr. Celebs are willing to cut their fees to as low as 5cr just to land a deal with the online platform & stay relevant.
Stars often show a confident face, despite brimming with insecurity within. The COVID-19 pandemic has cut a lot of stars to size. Stars who thought that the world revolves around them are now insecure over them staying relevant. It looks like the days of star salaries making up to 50% of the project cost are behind us, albeit temporarily.
In one of our previous articles, we had mentioned how stars make millions, while lyricists, stunt masters, musicians, singers, etc have a tough time when they stop getting work. No celeb to date has done anything to ease their pain. Instead of making a charitable donation, we wish some celeb would have taken up the cause of making these industry folk eligible for royalty payments.
If news reports are to be believed, a vaccine is just around the corner. It beats us as to why a star would drop his/her rate instead of waiting for a few months.
