The Vikrant Massey-starring, Vidhu Vinod Chopra-directed film 12th Fail was an unexpected hit at the box office. Following its 50-day run in theaters, the uplifting drama will finally have its OTT debut. The biographical drama 12th Fail, which is based on the life of IPS officer Manoj Sharma, debuted in theaters on October 27 and received favorable reviews from both reviewers and the general public. 

 

The most recent hit drama directed by Vikrant Massey will be available for streaming on Disneyplus Hotstar starting on December 29. The video streaming behemoth announced the OTT debut with a trailer for 12th Fail on their YouTube page and social media accounts. 

 

It is based on the same-titled nonfiction book by Anurag Pathak, published in 2019; it recounts the real-life experiences of Manoj Kumar Sharma, IPS, and Shraddha Joshi Sharma, Irs. Manoj overcame extreme poverty to join the Indian Police Service as an officer. Vikrant Massey plays the title role in the movie, alongside Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee.

 

The movie had an incredible run at the box office. Word about the movie, which stars Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar, has spread since its premiere, and as it continues to sell well at the box office, it has earned more than 50 crores. According to a report, 12th Fail brought in a total of Rs 65.98 crores globally on a ₹20 crore budget.

 

The audience's confidence in the outstanding content has been restored by 12th Fail's triumph. Based on a genuine event, 12th Fail explores the challenges faced by millions of students attempting to pass the UPSC entrance exam. However, it also motivates people to try again and not give up in the face of failure. It goes beyond just that one exam. 

 

Vidhu Vinod Chopra returns to directing with 12th Fail, following up with Shikara (2020). The movie was also released in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu.
