Is Thunivu Hit Or Flop? Box Office Result, Release Date
Among the much-awaited films of early 2023 was Thunivu, a Tamil-language action thriller directed by H. Vinoth. It featured Ajith Kumar. The movie released on 11 January 2023 and with all the respect due to stardom and the interesting storyline involving Ajith Kumar, it made much noise. This film was produced under Bayview Projects LLP by Boney Kapoor and included another prominent role play by Manju Warrier. The movie received mixed reviews. Though a few reviewers appreciated Ajith's mass performance and the high-octane action of the movie, several of them commented on issues with the screenplay and pace of the film. However, Thunivu is still cherished for its entertainment quotient; and at the same time, the sentimental value contributed by Ajith's fandom carried the sickly box office figures for this mixed review-based film.

Thunivu also had a good international run up, especially in countries of Tamil origin. It did well even in Malaysia, the UAE and the USA regions, grossing over ₹45 crore from the overseas markets. That helped the film very much to chalk out its box office rating.

Thunivu would then go on to garner a satisfactory position at the box office, though criticism never could stop the cinematic experience from being a grosser at the box office. The action sequences, main hero Ajith, and release in festive time have been primarily due to its commercial success. However, its box office wasn't of record-breaking nature that some of Ajith's previous ventures had achieved but it definitely saw a continuation of his streak of hits on the big screen and also turned out to be one of the other big ticket successes of 2023.
